maori

In Rotorua  they have an amazing Maori culture center called Tamaki Village, it was so amazing learning more about the maori culture!! I love it, working on my pukana face! (If you don't know what that is, google it ;)
Here's my friend Stephen who was our groups "Chief", they are not kissing! Maori's greet by pressing noses and taking a deep breath, nice anddd personal!
Here is the performers doing poi!
 Here's me doing poi!
We had a traditional hungi for dinner! I loved it! Maori's dig a big hole and cook their food in the ground forever, kind of like a giant, earthy crock pot. It has a big of an earthy taste to the food but I thought it was great! But Pamela thinks if I liked it that much it probably wasn't as legit as a normal hungi, cooked in the dirt ... haha still sounds good to me!
We loved our bus driver Sonny! After singing "Party in the USA" as a song to represent America (don't worry we did us proud) Sonny announced that "you american's are funny!" We had a real connection.
We had so much fun at the village and ended our night with a new friend from Poland (far left) and a new friend from Ireland (in the blue)! I love traveling and meeting people from all ends of the earth! Loved every minute of this trip!
